Owners: Mark and Paul Myhre

We both started learning the trade at about the same time, but with two very different painting contractors. Paul specialized in commercial production-type spraying. ‘Production’ means you better work fast! He quickly became an expert with a spray gun, and can handle all types of spraying of any surface you could imagine.

Spraying is quicker, of course, but is best used only in certain situations. When we come over to give you a free, no-obligation estimate for painting your home or office, we’ll explain all the nuances of spraying vs. brush-and-rolling. (Assuming you want to hear it. Amazingly enough, some people are bored by those nuances!)

Mark started painting with a different contractor who specialized in repainting nice old homes on the banks of the St. John’s River in Palatka. They never sprayed; everything was always carefully and meticulously brushed and rolled. He slowly became an expert at beautifying the fine trim and woodwork of two-story one-hundred-year-old houses.

Keep in mind, this was thirty-plus years ago. Back then, all trim was covered in oil-based paint. Oil-base is thinker and harder to work with than latex paint. It takes more skill and expertise.

Nowadays, the quality of most paint is much higher. These days it’s acceptable to use latex paints for your woodwork, as long as you prepare the surfaces properly.

Obviously, we’re now both experts at all phases of painting and the prep work that’s so essential to a quality job that stands the test of time. We learned from the best. We paid our dues. We know what we’re doing.

Painting really isn’t difficult. You’re not building a rocket here. So what makes some painters better than others? I can sum it up in one word: ATTITUDE. You’ve got to bring the right attitude to the job. If you don’t have a positive outlook; if you don’t care about the quality of your work; if you don’t feel like what you do matters; then you’re not going to perform as well as you should.

And it tells in the finished product.

We show up on time. We do what we say we’re going to do. We give the best possible job at a fair price. So call us today for a free, no-obligation estimate for painting your home or office. No matter what it is; if it CAN be painted, then WE can paint it. Our specialty is custom house painting in Gainesville FL.

My personal opinion is that bedrooms, bathrooms, office, dens and basements can all be painted different colors since they usually all have different themes anyways. But if rooms don’t have defined separate spaces (my kitchen, eat in area, family room and foyer has an open floor plan), then paint it all the same color. But it doesn’t have to be neutral. For example in my house:Office: Greyish purple1/2 bath: YellowMaster bedroom: Sage greenMaster bathroom: Sage green brown2nd bedroom: Purple (daughter)3rd bedroom: Pink (daughter)4th bedroom: Blue (son)Kids bathroom: YellowKitchen/family room/foyer: Chocolate brown TaupeLiving room/Dining room: Taupe
